Planning + Aftercare

Open houses are available for interested families before joining 3Trees, and a thoughtful transition is crafted for young people after they leave the community.

Planning: Building Connections

An open house is available for interested families who have been invited to join the community.

All young people and families will receive an individually tailored assessment prior to joining the community. Families will have an active involvement in selecting the structure and content of their stay. Suitability and readiness are key component for admission which will be determined as a collective team decision for each individual family (see admission).

Aftercare: Maintaining Connections

Research shows that risk of harm can increase temporarily when young people leave on-the-land treatment that have been effective and enjoyable.

For this reason, there will be a thoughtful transition to real life after leaving the community.

Young people will be taking part in online sessions with their team leaders and cohort, offered to mentor newcomers and to contribute to the community in various ways (e.g., lived-experience workshops).

For us, this is an essential part of maintaining genuine connections.
